I’m here for you. I want to listen.
Are you navigating through themes of depression, anxiety, shame, fear, guilt, regret, trauma, or challenges in your relationships? Have you experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment, and find that these experiences continue to affect how you relate to yourself and others? Do these struggles weigh on you day after day, making it difficult to feel connected, express your emotions, or trust your own decisions? Perhaps you find yourself replaying past experiences, worrying about the future, or feeling the heavy judgment of others or even of yourself. You might be questioning your identity, wondering how the actions of others have shaped you, or struggling to understand patterns that keep repeating in your life. These struggles can feel isolating, overwhelming, numbing, and sometimes impossible to carry alone.
You don’t have to face this weight by yourself. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive space where you can begin to process these experiences, explore how they show up in your life, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been silenced or overlooked. Together, we can work at a pace that feels right for you, uncovering ways to understand, release, and transform these challenges into opportunities for self-awareness, resilience, and growth.
As someone from a Caribbean and South American immigrant family, I understand what it can feel like to move between cultures and carry expectations from different worlds. I recognize the impact of systemic racism, discrimination, and intergenerational pressures, and I prioritize creating a safe, affirming space where you can explore your cultural identity, family dynamics, faith, and the values that have shaped you.
As a spiritually and culturally informed therapist, I recognize the important role that spiritual healing and connection can play both within yourself and within your community. Additionally, I am an advocate for men’s mental health, supporting individuals and couples to navigate the unique challenges of expressing thoughts and emotions in therapy. Together, we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach emphasizes emotional awareness, understanding relational patterns, and strengthening the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to support meaningful change. I draw from Client-Centered Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and attachment-informed approaches. These methods are integrated to meet your unique needs: EFT and attachment work help explore emotions and relational patterns, CBT examines connections between thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and life situations, and Client-Centered Therapy ensures your experience and goals remain central.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology and am currently completing my Master of Arts in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University.
I work with individuals who may be facing challenges such as work or academic stress, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, low self-esteem, struggles with spirituality, experiences of abuse, questions around sexuality, or trauma.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space to explore these experiences and build understanding, resilience, and self-connection. I believe in you.
If you think we may work well together and we align, please feel free to book for a 15 minute consultation.
“I hope that either all of us or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments, but rather the strength we show when and if we’re ever given a second chance.” - Ted Lasso
As a former professional athlete, teacher, and therapist, I bring a unique perspective to my work. My athletic background allows me to deeply understand the pressures of performance, teamwork, and resilience, while my teaching experience has given me insight into the developmental and emotional needs of children and teens. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals across a wide range of ages, from young children to college athletes, and I am passionate about helping them overcome obstacles and thrive. In my practice, I’ve seen challenges like low confidence, difficulty handling setbacks, behavioural struggles, and feelings of isolation. These can show up as withdrawal from activities, outbursts, or trouble balancing responsibilities and personal goals. For parents, it can be heartbreaking to watch a child or teen feel this way, especially when communication feels strained. The foundation of my work is trust. I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where children, teens, and young adults feel heard and empowered to explore their feelings and develop healthy coping strategies. For athletes, I offer a unique perspective on the intersection of mental health and sports performance, helping them achieve both personal and team goals. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness techniques, and play therapy for younger children. My background as a professional athlete, teacher, counsellor, and cultural consultant with university soccer teams enables me to support individuals with a wide range of needs, including performance anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, and interpersonal relationships. I know how important it is to find the right therapist for your child or family. That’s why I begin by meeting with the parent(s) or guardian(s) to better understand the situation before starting one-on-one work with your child or teen. Sessions are confidential and designed to build trust and foster growth at a pace that feels comfortable for them. Therapy offers the tools and space to create lasting change, whether it’s developing social-emotional skills, navigating family dynamics, or overcoming challenges on the field or in the classroom. My goal is to help each individual thrive in their unique way.
